Ah yes, I paid $40 a ticket to see a triple crown winner thrown out of the game for arguing balls and strikes in the third inning.

Looks like the real star of baseball is Chad Fairchild.

You're right. They should go all NBA and allow the stars to do whatever the heck they want to despite the rules just because you paid to see him.

I actually was happy to see the umpire didn't treat Cabrera differently because he's a star. Players know there's a magic word that will get you ejected. Jim Bouton wrote about it in Ball Four, and that was decades ago. Maybe Cabrera thought he could get away with it in Spanish.

Wrong, watch the entire at bat and look at the horrible calls. This is different that Rasheed Wallace screaming in an refs face and being animated.

And as reference, here is Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski letting the ump have it after a horrible call and NOT getting kicked out of the game. So, tell me which one is worse?

The rule for ejections on called balls and strikes did not exist when Yaz played.

Doesn't matter if the call was bad or not. The rule is the rule. When it was first introduced if you even said a word about the call you were gone. IMO, they should go back to that. They've gotten too lax with it.
