If Jon Garland had never played for the Sox, this thread would not exist, as we would not care about a garbage starter.

Nothing against Jon personally but the Sox basically have him in Dylan Axelrod right now. |

I was frustrated Jon Garland wasn't more successful when he was with the Sox since I always wanted to use him in defense whenever Cub fans brought up the Sammy Sosa for George Bell trade.

Oh he definitely shined in the 05 postseason and I'm very happy for that. I'm just saying he's not some elite pitcher that the Sox let get away.

I've never been embarrassed by the fact that George Bell played for the Sox.

Considering how much Peavy has ripped off the Sox, I'm all for signing Garland, having Peavy pay his $500,000 salary and then never pitch Garland.

Peavy's contract is favorable, they knew he was an injury risk, never expected him to win a Cy, and he's been generally fine.
