Default Houston Astros Assist West, Texas

Astros are encouraging fans attending games, to please bring donation items to assist with the relief efforts in the aftermath of the devastation caused by the explosion at the fertilizer plant this week in West, Texas.

The following items are requested by the coordinated relief effort: new diapers/wipes, gift cards for grocery stores or home supply stores, travel size toiletries, powdered sports drinks, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, non-perishable canned or boxed food items, clean sheets and towels (new or gently used) and unopened boxed or bagged dog and cat food. Cash donations will also be accepted and will be directed to the ongoing relief efforts.

But though FRATER laughed openly, he wept secretly; and really he neither laughed nor wept. Nor did he mean what he said.

I think it would be a nice gesture by the White Sox to invite Scotty Pods back for a fundraiser for West, Texas. Maybe dedicate a Split the Pot or some online auctions during the game. (tickets to his blue seat for example.)

Fantastic idea! I bet if someone asked the Sox, they would be all over it.
