Default Jon Garland has opt-out clause

Sources: Garland has attracked the interest of other teams.

Geoff Baker
Jon Garland can opt out of #Mariners deal starting tomorrow. Pitching for job tonight, with team officials anxious.

You know your team's in trouble when you're anxiously watching Jon Garland and it's 2013.

They have plenty of pitching prospects, supposedly Garland was out-pitching them in spring training.

If he's healthy, wouldn't be a terrible choice to hold down the #5 spot while Danks is rehabbing. . .

I thought there was a story a couple of months ago that said his should is so torn up, he won't be able to pitch any more.

Maybe he's Steve Austin?

Hmm would you rather have Dylan Axelrod or Jon Garland as a fill in for Danks the first month of the season?

Start with Garland, but after he hits the DL following his second appearance due to shoulder problems, then you use Axelrod until Danks comes back.

I'd rather have Santiago vs. Axelrod

Just ask him to make the Seventh his Big Inning so Robin pulls him after the Sixth before he does any damage.

I don't want to come off as the spelling police, because lord knows I'm terrible myself, but what kind of word is attracked?

Thomas Harding
Rockies have RHP Jon Garland at their facility for a physical, and an announcement could happen today.
