Opening Day Time of 3:10pm?

How can you forget the 2000 home opener with Ray Durham making that insane catch, laying out in RF, running full speed with his back completely turned to the IF, over the shoulder?

I have been to three opening days, 2007, 2009 and 2011. I am not going to opening day in 2013.

I was just naming home openers, but you are right. Didnt Marte blow the 2003 opener in KC or am I mixing up 04 & 03? The memory that sticks with me from the 08 opener in Cleveland was Alexei in centerfield.

Opening Day 2004 (at Kansas City), Sox took a 7-3 lead in the bottom of the ninth, only to give up 6 runs and lose 9-7.

Politte started the inning before giving way to Koch (RBI double, K) before Marte was brought in and promptly blew the save, by giving up a 3-run homer to tie the game, followed by a single and a walk-off 2-run homer to Beltran to end it.

I didn't see that game but I remember going into that season thinking that Alexei could eventually be our everyday center fielder and I was hoping he'd be able to take over the leadoff spot.

Funny how you have small memories of each Opener. Oddly, I can't remember much about the last two.

2003 - Rain delay, Loaiza got the start.
2004 ?
2005 Opener vs. Cleveland, Infield hit by Rowand?, Ross Gload stab & Shingo save
2006 - Opening Night, Rain, Thome Bomb
2007 - Contreras' wife serves him divorce papers and the Sox get destroyed
2008 - Crede slam (vs. Minn or Detroit? can't remember)
2009 - Rescheduled game due to snow, Wise gets booed out of the park for leading off, Thome homer
2010 - Buehrle start, Konerko homer, great Rios catch
2011 - Cold day, Edwin Jackson pitches a good game
2012 - ? I'm getting old.

Also a great game pitched by Mark Buehrle who out dueled Jake Westbrook. Game was completed under 2 hours if I remember right.

Did AJ get a bases loaded HBP to send home the winning run on opening day 2007? Or was that just a game early in the year? I know I was at it but can't seem to remember if that was the opener.

There were no HBP incidents on Opening Day, 2007. Also, we lost 12-5. That should have told us all we wanted to know about that season (except for Mark's first no-no and Thome's 500th).

First pitch of the game was a Sizemore homer, and the whole year sucked after that.

That was the third game of the year, there was also some dispute as to whether or not the pitch hit him.

Thanks for clearing that up. Now I remember the 12-5 loss, and was actually at that game as well, but I probably blacked it out of my mind like most of that season.
