I read an article on this Santos Rodriquez kid who throws real hard with a pretty devastating slider in winter ball? Have you any update or more info on him?

Not a candidate for the rotation. But, anytime you've got a left-hander with a high-90s fastball, that's going to get the attention of a manager and a pitching coach. I wouldn't count out Rodriguez contending for a roster spot as a reliever this spring, but I think the Sox are going to need to see better command from him before he gets a big-league opportunity.

He's a big kid, 6-foot-6, so the ball gets on the hitter quickly with his velocity. He's a guy who can present some problems, especially for left-handed hitters, if he throws enough strikes. That's a question mark right now.
