2015 Chicago WhiteSox
C= T. Flowers (29) 1B= K. Barnum (22) #10 1B prospect 2B= G. Beckham (28)<--------w/ Marcus Seimen nipping at his heals SS= A. Ramirez (33) 3B= C. Sanchez (22) #7 INF prospect LF= D. Viciedo (25) CF= T. Thompson (24) RF= J. Mitchell (25) DH= A. Dunn (35) SP- C. Sale L SP- F. HERNANDEZ R (8yr-150M) CONTROL through his age 33 season SP- J. Danks L SP- E. Johnson R SP- S. Snodgress L CL- A. Reed (24) SU- J. Crain (34) SU- H. Street (32) RP- S. Marshall (33) RP- S. Castro (25) RP- J. Quintana (25) LR- D. Axelrod (28) Kept it mostly in house This team would have a budget of roughly 96M leaving a TON of wiggle room where if in contention can make some big moves. I like this 2015 team better than our current team unfortunately.....

Felix Hernandez is a lock to make $200 million from someone.

I dont see this ownership locking up any pitcher for 8 years.

If Adam Dunn is still on this team in 2015, that means something has gone horribly wrong, and I won't be with that team.

No way in hell Felix doesn't get 22-25 million a year.
He's as durable as they come. |

Nice idea.
2015 Chicago WhiteSox C= Kevan Smith (27) 1B= Andy Wilkins (26) 2B= Carlos Sanchez (22) SS= Alexei Ramirez (33) 3B= Matt Carpenter (30) (Trade) LF= Keenyn Walker (25) CF= Trayce Thompson (24) RF= Dayan Viciedo (25) DH= James Loney (FA) (31) Bench Tyler Flowers C (29) Jared Mitchell OF (25) Tyler Saladino INF (26) Jeff Keppinger INF (35) Chris Young OF (32) SP- Chris Sale L SP- Jenrry Meija R (trade) SP- John Danks L SP- Erik Johnson R SP- Scott Snodgress L CL- Addison Reed (24) SU- Simon Castro (25) RHP- Andre Rienzo (27) LHP- Charlie Leesman (28) LHP- Jose Quintana (25) LR- Nestor Molina (26) I think we're crazy enough to make that trade for Meija, and I think both him and the Mets will get sick of each other pretty quickly. Matt Carpenter is another guy who doesn't have a position on the Cardinals, but should be a regular starter IMO. There is also plenty of room for upside on this team, but a lot of homegrown players could mean that this team would really stink if said players blow up in our faces, since this team will strike out a ton. Interesting exercise.
First off, I have to wonder if Jerry (he'll be 79 in February of '15) will be owning the team in 2015, and if the team is sold, what kind of owner will we have? It seems very obvious that all of Dunn, Rios and Peavy will be gone and a small chance Konerko could be signed to DH which frees up a ton of cash, yet most or all will need to be replaced. Also, unless we see a drastic change in performance, both Beckham and Viciedo will become too expensive for what we get out of them, and will be traded. First, next offseason - the FA's the Sox should go after are: James Loney and Martin Prado to replace Beckham and Rios. Then in 2014 - with Dunn's contract expiring, the Sox should make a strong effort to sign Verlander away from the Tigers, especially if Chris Sale is locked into a below-market deal, and also either Colby Rasmus or Brett Gardner to hold down an OF spot. We could also use a solid setup guy since all of our experienced relief guys now will be gone - Jason Motte would be a good choice. So here's my 2015 roster: 1B - James Loney 2B - Martin Prado SS - Alexei Ramirez 3B - Jeff Keppinger LF - Colby Rasmus CF - Alejandro De Aza RF - Trace Thompson / Keenyn Walker DH - Paul Konerko C - Josh Phegley SP - Chris Sale SP - Justin Verlander SP - Jose Quintana SP - Simon Castro SP - Erik Johnson CL - Addison Reed SU - Jason Motte SU - Donnie Veal MR - Charlie Leesman MR - Nate Jones MR - Andre Rienzo LR - Scott Snodgress Bench: C: Tyler Flowers - cheap for 3-4 more years. IF: Carlos Sanchez IF: Juan Silverio OF: Courtney Hawkins OF: Keenyn Walker / Trace Thompson |

Sadly while I would love to see Pauly still here in 2015 I think the Barnum kid will take his place.

3 to 4 years. We are not used to waiting for prospects, because they would rush college players. Hawkins was playing high school ball in May.
