If that's a trend, that teams are willing to part with that level of talent, we should get in that game now. Our pitching will keep us stable while retooling.

I know this is deep pink pipe dream but I wish our offseason went as such:
-Trade Alexei, Floyd and Tank to Arizona for Upton -Sign Stephen Drew -Trade Thornton, Rios and Crain for pure salary relief -Sign Hamilton yes even it meant 5 or 6 years at 24-25 million per

We already have Connor Jackson. Brandon Wood is available. Who else can we get from the top prospect list from 5 years ago?

Hahn has the coveted 2007 Minor League System of the Year award in his sights.

Look at season by season OPS comparisons, starting at 2008: Choo: .946, .883, .885, .733, .815 Rios: .798, .691, .791, .613, .850 Choo's .733 came in a season he spent twelve weeks on multiple trips to DL. No way Rios would get near the return Choo would command.

I wonder if the sox could pry Trumbo from the angels now that LAA has signed Hamilton and probably need another starter. Floyd and Beckham do it? I know that Trumbo is not great defensively but I think it's worth the trade off It may take more to make the Angels happy...
Put Trumbo at 3b and Kepp at 2b until / if Sanchez is ready

I for one would like to see the Sox go after a package of Peter Bourjos and Hank Conger for Floyd and Thornton.

I would just loooove this deal! Then maybe we could use DeAza to bolster the bullpen a little bit...

DeAza for a bullpen pitcher would be seriously underselling him. |

I would rather see the Sox flip Floyd + Thornton for Mark Trumbo and trade Dayan for some pitching.
