Who sang the national anthem at Game 2 of the 2005 World Series? I know Josh Groban sang at Game 1, but I can't for the life of me remember who sang at Game 2. (And I was at that game!) Google and You Tube searches have not turned up the answer, but I'm betting someone here will remember.

Thank you! With that information, I was able to find photographic "evidence".

This brings to mind one of my favorite all-time posts here on WSI:
God only knows why I remember that, seven years later.

My wife & I were at that game.
Her all time favorite singer = Lou Rawls and she was wearing her Podsednik jersey. The beginning and the end! |

If I'm not mistaken, that was one of his final performances before his death a few months later.
One of the downsides of the 2005 World Series DVD box set (aside from being subjected to mental midgets Buck and McCarver) is that Rawls' singing the National Anthem at Game 2 wasn't included, yet we still got Lyle Lovett singing "God Bless America" for Game 4.

But though FRATER laughed openly, he wept secretly; and really he neither laughed nor wept. Nor did he mean what he said. |

In 2005, I received all the primetime Garfield specials on DVD. Rawls provided vocals for most of them, so it was nice to see him singing at the time.
