I'm with you. I'd rather see one more pennant for Jeter than one at all for Fielder, Young, Valverde, etc.

I hear you, but the thought of douchebags like A-roid and Swisher winning another WS makes me nauseous too. I really hope the O's pull it off.

Oakland proving once again that Moneyball wins you AL West titles and nothing else.

Or that facing a guy like Verlander in a do or die game for both teams sucks big time...

This thread is comical.
Love how it becomes the A's choked when they simply lost to the best pitcher in baseball. Nobody in America had the Athletics doing what they did. They had a nice run with a great young core of players. And the feminine nickname for Fielder is pathetic and oh so clever. Grow the **** up. A bunch of in here because the Sox couldn't beat Detroit.

To be fair, the tigers deserve to be there. We would have lost in the playoffs and the tigers might just go all the way considering they have those two up front.
Sigh.... The sox are never going to be a baseball power. First the twins, now the tigers. We'e ****ed.

Verlander was unbeatable with Wally Bell's generous strike zone on outside pitches to leftys against a lefty dominant A's team. Verlander could strike guys out looking without throwing a single pitch in the strike zone....amazingly perfect setup for Verlander ..thanks to Bell.
I do not give a crap if he was consistent...a strike is a strike and a ball is a ball. Parker was pitching to mainly rightys in the tigers lineup and was not getting that pitch outside to rightys....huge edge to Verlander. Verlander was smart, and kept milking the edge that Bell handed him. Go O's. |

The "princess" Fielder thing was weak. The obligatory guilty recoiling in the horror of it all weaker.

Have to admit that it sucks when the big money players that the A's can't afford make the difference in the series.
I wonder when Billy Beane is going to give up on Oakland and move to a team with an owner that lets him spend a little. |

Oh c'mon now folks. Using feminized versions of players' names as insults has been frowned on on this site for years. It's not an overreaction to comment to the same effect as the reasoning for that rule.
Now. No matter how good Verlander is, I'm entitled to dislike him, and I do. And I can dislike the Tiggers, or any other team, without wearing blinders to our own team's failings. |
