Surprised that the Orioles are going with Saunders, since the Rangers have hammered him throughout his career (3-7 in 11 starts, 6.48 ERA).
Matchup for NL Wild Card is Lohse (STL) vs. Medlen (ATL).

David Ross will be catching Medlen, not Brian McCann.

That might help the Braves, since Ross is actually outhitting McCann (.256 vs. .230) and actually hits better off of righties.

The Cardinals really are remarkable. I don't know how they keep doing it, but they make the playoffs.

They play in a weak division, they have one of the best catchers in baseball, they smack the **** out the ball, and they somehow get otherwise unremarkable free agents to pitch well.

I know. It's crazy that teams can't stop them.
