The Twins are replacing entire staff but manager Ron Gardenhire and pitching coach Rick Anderson in huge biggest upheaval in 30 years Phil Mackey Twins officially announce coaching changes: Jerry White, Steve Liddle, Rick Stelmaczek, head athletic trainer Rick McWane all out. It's worth noting Ron Gardenhire has one year left on his current contract. http://www.1500espn.com/sportswire/S..._changes100412 |

Two straight last-place finishes with 90+ losses and a pitching staff that has just fallen apart (Twins gave up more than 800 runs each of the last two years).
Not that I don't enjoy kicking the Twins while they're down, but you can only do so much with what you have. Given how bad their pitching is, it's a bit surprising that only the pitching coach stayed outside of Gardenhire.

Their pitching was never that formidable, even when they had Santana and Radke. Liriano had 2006, and that was it.
Once those guys left or declined, they got exposed. They also lost the biggest homefield advantage in the game.

Rick Stelmaszek is a Chicago guy and I think one of the longest current lasting coaches.

He had been a Twins coach since 1981, and started working for the organization in 1978.
