Interesting to see if Alomar sticks around. No question he's going to be a manager some day; just wonder if he'll take a jump now or wait Francona out.

Besides the money and lack of pressure, I'm not sure why anyone would want the Cleveland job. They aren't even tepid garbage.

Miami will announce next week they've hired Alomar to manage them.

This is what I think, too. It's the only reason they haven't announced Ozzie Guillen's firing. As soon as Sandy signs his contract, Guillen will be gone.

He did a very good job in Boston. He did a poor job in Philly. Obviously Boston had a loaded roster but it also had a myriad of diverse personalities which he was able to control for most years. He also had very strong coaching staffs in Boston. We will see how he does w much less talent on a team that will probably not spend big bucks on his staff.
