September AL Central (OK, Tigers) Watch Thread - The Home Stretch

It's all moot unless we beat the Twins. Thankfully, the Sox have been doing that pretty consistently this year.

So, the Tigers go on the road briefly, lose three games in Kansas City, come home, sweep the first-place White Sox to tie them in the standings, then lose the next day to Cleveland.

Ain't that a kick in the head.

The White Sox are currently in first place, after losing six straight in Detroit, the last three as part of a 1-5 road trip against contending teams, because they have been more successful than the Tigers against teams with losing records. If they continue to be tonight at home against the Twins, they will be back in first place all by themselves.

Not sure if this was pointed out, but 2 of the runs the Indians scored today were unearned.

After sweeping us with 38,000 each game and their 1-3 starters I was hoping this Indians series would be a letdown series for Detroit. If Cleveland can take 2/3 I'll be ecstatic.

Yesterday's game was originally scheduled to be a day game. ESPN picked it up a few weeks ago.

There was no Tigers travel involved, though. The catcher who with the run-scoring passed ball and later throwing error that put a runner at third, didn't catch the night before. It wasn't like the Giants playing a day game at Wrigley Field Friday after playing a night game in Houston.
