While I agree it's a nice story, it doesn't really have much bearing on the Sox as far as prospects go. Great Falls has two intriguing players in Kevan Smith (turns 24 in June) and Blair Walters, but as college players in rookie ball, it's almost impossible to gauge their skill until they are facing age appropriate competition. It could be worse though, Bristol doesn't really have a single prospect worth following.

No. He's been terrible almost the entire season. The rust excuse is moot at this point, and next year is big for him. What's disheartening is that most scouting reports are awful too. He looks like a big mess. Sometimes tools guys just flame out in A ball, and it might be the case with Mitchell.

My teammate from high school is on the team. His name is Jamaal Hollis. Good guy, had a low to mid 90s fastball his freshman year.

Lastings Milledge elected to be a FA. Never understood why he didn't get a September call up. He had a pretty decent season down in Charlotte.

Arizona Fall League games begin tomorrow.

White Sox participants are on the Mesa Solar Sox this year.

Terry Doyle
Nevin Griffith
Brandon Kloess
Jake Petricka

Tyler Saladino
Josh Phegley
Michael Blanke
Brandon Short


Not much significant talent here. Saladino and Petricka are the players most worth following.

Phegley has a wrist injury and will miss the majority of the AFL. Blanke who was on the taxi squad will be his permanent replacement. Not that it matters really. Phegley isn't very good.

Can't agree with that. We have no idea how Phegley will turn out, he's been hamstrung by injuries each of his seasons in the minors. To say "he isn't very good" is ridiculous.

Phegley is a terrible catcher. There isn't a chance he sticks back there. His receiving skills have been likened to a piece of driftwood propped up behind the plate. The bat doesn't look like it will be good enough to play elsewhere either. Almost a non prospect.

Kevan Smith might be interesting, but other than him, Blanke or Gonzalez might be the only actual catching prospects.
Some abysmal results today from the Sox.

Reportedly Phegley has a ligament tear. He will now miss the entire AFL. That prospect stock keeps falling.
