Also kind of worth noting, the White Sox were going to select prep SS Brandon Martin with their supplemental pick, but the Rays beat them to it at number 38.

Just hopefully he isn't sitting there expecting money for where he thought he would be picked. It sounds like he is real excited to be with us though. A hometown guy, he may just want to get a deal done and get started.

We can always use good pen help, and it looks like we got some in this draft. If Gardeck works hard and progresses in his pitching career, he could be a good reliever.
