BA has a midseason Draft Top 50 posted:

http://www.baseballamerica.com/today...1/2611568.html

Cole has indeed emerged as a legit contender for the number 1 pick over Rendon. Scouts have been raving about him. I still think the Pirates take Rendon barring injury though.

I hope the Sox go BPA with their 1st pick, but I'd imagine they draft pitching. The farm could use solid prospects at pretty much every position though. Some of the later round names I'm a fan of that could fall are Anthony Meo, Jason Esposito, Charlie Tilson (local boy), and Peter O'Brien.

Sickels has his first mock draft up. The supplemental round portion will be posted later today. This year's draft is so deep that the Sox should be able to acquire legitimate talent with their first pick at number 47, especially if they open up their wallet. Many supplemental and 2nd round picks in this year's draft would be 1st rounders in year's past.

At this point in time it's between Cole and Rendon being the first overall pick. Most analysts are leaning Rendon currently. Hultzen has shot up draft boards this year as well. I'm a big fan of Starling and I hope he ends up in KC. Bauer is a really fun guy to watch, but his pitch counts have been enormous this year. Sonny to the Indians makes a bunch of sense. He would fit nicely in a rotation with Masterson, Pomeranz, & White. Tons of interesting names to sift through later in the round too.

If the Sox continue this ****fest, do the Nats still get our pick for Dunn, even if it's top 10?

The Sox record this year will determine our draft position next year (2012), not this years draft in June. So the anwser is yes, the Nats still get our pick this year.

Yeah, that's right, it's based off of the 2010 season. Whoops.

Not sure I buy the Pirates going with Cole over Rendon, but not unfathomable. This is going to be a really fun draft class.

It will be interesting to see what JR Graham will do this season, focusing solely on pitching. But getting good value out of that supplemental pick is a must.

MLB.com has a detailed top 50 draft prospects list up. Pretty helpful for those that would like to familiarize themselves with many of the names out there.

http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/prospects/wat...11/#list=draft

Players from 30 - 50 that I like are Cron, Levi Michael, Susac, Chafin, Esposito, Tilson (local boy), and Beede.

I really don't expect Cron or Susac to be available though.

Piliere has his 1st mock draft up. Interesting he thinks Rendon will slide that far. This only goes through the 1st round, so no Sox pick. Anything out of the top 10 - 15 is a huge crapshoot anyways.

I played against Tilson this year, and that kid is the best base runner I have ever seen. Still, the arms a little weak.

Baseball America's 2nd mock draft is up.

http://www.baseballamerica.com/today...1/2611827.html

Rendon back in the top spot. Surprised to see Starling at number 2. Tons of tools, but still really raw. You then have the top tier of pitching with Bundy, Hultzen, Cole, and Bauer. One could make a case for any of those pitchers at anywhere in the top 5 in varying combinations.

There will be plenty of talent available for the Sox at 47. Even though history suggests they won't be spending much, there are still some fine options. Gonzo noted that the 1st pick will likely be a pitcher for what it's worth.

That's 2 almost certain first rounders that are going to fall significantly.
