Not if Detroit signs a higher rated type-A FA though, right?

Correct, and the only two that would create that scenario is Crawford or Werth.

Goodbye 1st round pick, it was nice knowing you. Can't say I mind in this case though.

Nationals receive the 23rd pick in the draft for the White Sox signing Adam Dunn.

White Sox are giving up the 23rd pick in the 2011 draft to sign Adam Dunn. A hit for an already thin farm system

The Sox gain a supplemental pick for the Diamondbacks signing JJ Putz. The supplemental round is between the 1st and 2nd round. I will update the draft order of said round once more signings occur.

Draft order is updated. Still subject to change as there are still Type A's and B's on the market.

The White Sox first pick in the draft is at #45 in the supplemental round.

Nope. Draft picks are unable to be traded.

With the last Type A signing (Pavano) the 1st round draft order is set. The supplemental round is close to official, as Felipe Lopez is the last remaining Type B. The initial post is updated.

Worth noting that the Rays have a ridiculous 12 picks within the first 89 selections in what is widely considered an especially strong draft class. They will undoubtedly bolster what is considered the 2nd best farm system in baseball.

With the remaining type B signings, the White Sox first pick is now #47 in the supplemental round. If the leaked Elias Rankings is indeed correct, this pick will be bumped to #48 once Lopez signs.

Supplemental round and beyond is also updated in the initial post.

Final draft order is seemingly set. It's still unclear to me if Felipe Lopez garners a pick for Boston. He signed a minor league deal which many say nulls compensation. Others note that if Lopez makes the Rays opening day roster, Boston can petition MLB to receive said compensation pick.

Not that the draft threads of past are a hotbed of activity, but this thread will likely be exceptionally quiet this year. It is a really interesting draft class that is exceptionally strong, but I'd assume most people here are indifferent to other team's drafting. With no pick until the 47th selection, speculation is quite useless. We can only hope that the Sox reallocate funds that would have been spent on the 1st round pick on talent that falls to the supplemental round or further. I won't be surprised if the organization just cuts the draft budget even further though.

This is really what I, and the rest of Sox Fandom are hoping for, though I fear that it will be a moot point, because they don't take risks or won't pay premiums anymore.
