2009 Draft Class status

I know one player that the Sox drafted last year was Kyle Long. IIRC, he ended up having legal troubles, getting kicked out of the University of Florida and ended up at a community college.

Weaver was drafted in the 17th round out of HS. He went to a JC where he had some tendonitis this year. He was not drafted in the 2009 draft. He's hoping to rebound in 2010.

Another one I caught when browsing through The Baseball Cube link Britt Burns posted (thanks, by the way) was Jorden Merry. He really should have signed with us, because his senior year was a complete dud. He ended up falling all the way to the 40th round, where Seattle took him.

This is why I am ok not overpaying HS and young college kids who have proven nothing.

And I don't know how I didn't catch this, but apparently 44th round pick Taylor Thompson, a guy we drafted in the 25th round last year, signed at some point and is in Bristol. That brings the class signees to 39.
