I will predict that he will be our starting CF by June of next year. |

CF no longer looks like a blackhole in this organization with Mitchell and Danks.
I'm curious to see how fast Mitchell can move through the organization. I know he played football for LSU as well, but he lead his team with 52 walks so he seems to be somewhat polished. Hopefully Anderson can stop being miserable at the plate and create a decent stopgap while giving these guys some competition in the future. |

Love the kid, but how can he project as a big-league center fielder when he couldn't even win that job on his college team?

KenBerryGrab, As far as not winning his the CF job on his college team, I don't think Beckham played 3b for his college team last year. Besides, learning a new position is one the things the minors are for.

He will not be up anytime soon. As has been said 1000000 times, the Sox plan to totally tear apart his swing and rebuild it using his tools in order to get him to hit with power. The guy is built like a brick mansion, but he has to learn how to use his power more often to take advantage of it. This is going to be a big project, but if it works, well worth it.

Good to get him signed soon like this. I'm still not wild about the pick, but here's hoping for a long and successful Crawford-esque career with the Sox.

The video clip did mention that his defensive skills need working on.

Wonder if this means he'll be at the game tonight to throw out the first pitch like other previous First Round selections (I remember Lance Broadway was introduced, I think Poreda was, too).

Either way, I think he's going to be someone special for the Sox. Just watching Mitchell run the bases is cool because the kid has some impressive speed.
