Question and answer about Viciedo halfway through the chat. Says that scouts think Viciedo will be fine once he learns his strike zone, and currently sliders are eating him up. They think AA is a good spot for him especially since the Barons manager speaks Spanish. |

No way Viciedo stays at 3B IMO. He's big right now and is only going to grow more. Plus, he looked pretty slow at 3B.

He got his average up to .270 today. Perhaps he is getting used to the way they pitch over here, and if he has- watch out. People say that he can be an RBI machine, not necesarrily a home-run masher, but a guy who can come up with the gappers and some home-runs (kind of like Dye).

He has improved markedly and shows he can adjust. He is hitting alot of ground ball singles. Hopefully the adjustments continue and we start to see the power he possesses.

If Viciedo continues to improve/succeed in the minors, when do people think is the earliest we might see him on the Sox?
*before anyone gets worked up over this question, I'm not implying the Sox should rush him or call him up in the near future based on a "small sample size" of success in the minors. I'm just curious as to what his expected window is for making it up to the majors.

2010 Midseason callup is the earliest I could fathom. He has alot of work to do still. (This is a best case scenario, not an advocation. This is one player that absolutely should not be rushed imo) I think the start of the 2011 season might be the most realistic.

Over his last 10 games, he is 16/41, .380 with two XBH (HR and 2B).

I want to figure out how long his hitting streak is, because I am pretty sure it is at 12 or 13. Anyone have an idea?

I will be ecstatic when Dayan starts getting more XBH and walking. Very pleased that he has shown he can adjust after his terrible start though.

Yeah it's always good to see a prospect, especially as young as he, adjust to a new league. Now that he's starting to make better contact I hope more xb hits are on the way.
