I didn't read the whole thread, and I apologize if this has been posted.

This could be a great selection, and now he won't be represented by Boras.

So what's the time frame as far as draft picks signing with their teams? How soon can draft picks sign? How long do they have to sign before they go back into next year's draft pool?

I think the deadline is August 1st, but that's unsubstantiated and sans-google.

I'm 90% sure it's sometime in August, though.

Draft picks already started signing. Sox signed 3rd rounder, Brent Morel, and he'll be at Great Falls next week when their season starts.

I read about the Morel signing, and I think he got $486,000 (nice work if you can get it).

August 15th is the dealine to sign. You usually see a flurry of signing in the last 10 days.

College players still playing will always wait until they are out of it. However, there are usually a lot of signings between the draft and 2-3 weeks into the season (most before the end of the first week). Once they are 2-3 weeks into the short season, there is very little benefit for most to sign vs the negotiating leverage. There will be a lot of press and a slate of signings league-wide within the last 2 weeks before the deadline.
