Default 6/8 a HUGE day for White Sox draftees

Gordon Beckham went 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs and four RBIs for Georgia and Ryan Strauss had six innings of one-hit, shutout relief for FSU.

March 16, 2005 - Another happy Sox fan joins the party!
July 6, 2012 - 7 years later he's still part of it...

I think we struck gold with this Beckham kid. He seems to have plus makeup, to go along with his plus talent.

Hopefully they sign him fairly quickly and he goes to high A for the last 30-40 games.

When do any of our recent draftees play next?

I know that Beckham will be playing in the College World Series that starts June 14. As for the rest of the Sox '08 drafe class, I have no idea.

I was there to witness Ryan Strauss' domination of the Wichita State offense. It was even more impressive when considering how the Wichita State Shockers had, to that point, scored 18 runs in 21 innings against Florida State. He showed a lot of confidence and composure, going 1-2-3 in the 4th, 5th, 8th, and 9th, and throwing 8, 10, 7, and 11 pitches in those innings (67 overall!). He could be a nice steal in the 9th round... may be a good reliever for us in a few years.
