Charlotte was off

Birmingham lost to Montgomery 4-3

Gio (L, 8-7) struggled with his command a bit: 5 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 6 Ks
Hernandez: 1 IP, 1 H, 1 BB

Nanita: 2-4
Garret: 1-4, 2B
Aldridge and Shabala singled

Winston-Salem was off

Bristol lost to Johnson City 7-4 in Game 1 of their DH

Lin (L, 5-5): 3 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 2 BB
Tollefson: 2 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 Ks

Morales: 4-4, 3B, 1 RBI (Stole 10th base)
Martinez: 2-2
Cheatham and Mahin both doubled in 4 ABs
Avila, Gilbert, and Vargas all singled

Mabee: 1 IP, 1 H, 3 Ks (.57 ERA)

Retherford: 2-5, 2B, HR, 1 RBI
Mollenhauer: 2-2, 2B
Morgan: 2-4
Turner, Curtis, Paiml, Marrero, and Gallagher all singled in 4 ABs

its good he's not giving up runs, but one of the big things with poreda was his impeccable control. he's been a little walk happy lately. if he can keep those down, he should be a force in the upper levels very soon.

No, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him start next season in WS.

jump 2 levels (bristol and kanny) ?? i think he might start at kanny, and he if gets off to a good start, get a quick promotion, maybe end the season in birmingham? im not sure how quick the sox want to push the kid thru the system, and it'll obviously depend on his success/health as well.

Great Falls is considered by the Sox to be a higher level than Bristol.

For comparison, McCulloch started this year at W-S.
