I've read old scouting reports but is everybody sure that Richar cannot play SS. I've seen enough of his bat at AAA and he needs a shot with the big club but would like the Sox to keep Iguchi if it's a reasonable price. Has he been playing any SS or just 2b at Charlotte?

From everything I've read, we might as well have Jose Valentin back at SS if Richar plays there. Food for thought: Gooch played a lot of SS in Japan and was at least average out there.

I think Gooch made the move to 2B because of arm problems. I don't think he has a major league arm to play SS.

Richar has played both 2B and SS down at Charlotte. I've seen him play both and he looked alright, nothing Flashy though. He played SS today and hit a 2 run HR.

So basically not much if any improvement at SS then. I'm just curious to see him play in the bigs to see if he can hit and steal bases.

I know Richar is fast, but he doesn't really seem to be that much of a base-stealer.
