Default Sox 2014 Zips Projections

I know many of you don't care, but here they are from FanGraphs.

I mean, why shouldn't they? They nail it early on, the Sox are above average right now at 1 position, 1b (and thats no sure thing in Abreu).

Right now, the exciting part of the Sox is the unknown. Could Eaton be good, could Garcia be good, Davidson. Can Beckham not suck etc.

This is a team full of question marks. Its hardly a good team, atleast projections wise.

I believe Seph was making fun of the annual threads here when experts make predictions and are (rightfully, in recent years) down on the Sox, and then they point out the few times in the past decade that dogs have won divisions, as if that nullifies all expert predictions.

Gotta love how the article starts by saying no in depth analysis was done on the subject of hitting.

Not saying I disagree with what they wrote just a funny way to start an article that is based on computer analysis.

This Carson kid could use some lessons on basic English composition. This is some of the most mangled writing I've ever seen, on or off the Internet.

Because he writes like a moron or someone who first learned English last Saturday, it makes me question his analytical skills, too.

He's jokingly referring to the fact that it's not difficult to understand why the 2013 Sox sucked. Terrible offense.

I believe we have gone back and forth about this before, but the pre-season projection criticism is almost exclusively aimed at Baseball Prospectus, who have in fact been consistently (and spectacularly) wrong about the Sox over the years. In fact, when BP is close to being right about the Sox it is the exception, so much so that Fangraphs and Yahoo Sports felt compelled to write the articles linked to in this post:

http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/v...&postcount=412

Bottom line is that WSI's collective ongoing criticism of BP is fair and represents the bulk of criticism of pre-season prognostication. That said, I think you will be hard pressed to find anyone on WSI getting upset about anyone predicting that the Sox will finish last in the AL Central this year.

I'm guessing that it must include minor league numbers for some guys, right? It's hard to imagine Tyler Saldino hitting 15 homeruns for the big club this year. I don't quite get the comparison of Chris Sale to Greg Swindell. Of all the pitchers in history I could come up with, I barely even remember Swindell! I'm just a lunk though, and have no idea how this thing works.
