Default Gavin Floyd Appreciation Thread

Did a search and saw we haven't had one yet. I figured that now it's official...

For a few years, it seemed like every season he would be absolutely untouchable in June and July.

Happy trails.

Man, when he had that curveball working in the first or second inning, you just knew he was going to dominate. And when he couldn't find the plate with his breaking stuff, you just knew he was going to get chased by the 4th.

Hope he can make a comeback in Atlanta

Thanks for the good times, Gavin. Best wishes.

He sure threw a lot of almost no-hitters

Don't forget Sept. 29, 2008. Gavin showed up big in the makeup game vs. Detroit, paving the way for the glorious Game 163 against the Twins, and one of the few positive Sox memories since 2005.

Eh, people's memories are wired to remember the bad over the good, so I understand this sentiment, but Gavin did give the White Sox over 1,000 innings in his career, averaged about 4 WAR per 162 games and ultimately only cost us about $25 million... total. Certainly, many more have produced much less for more resources.

One has to wonder what his career be like if he didn't face the Tigers or Red Sox...
