Default Avisail Garcia- nickname

Can't figure out why Hawk calls him by his first name. He came equipt with a good one, which is a whole lot easier to use than his name, and Hawk lives to call people by their nickname.

If you mean Mini-Miggy, Hawk will never use that. Tiger-centric and besides, Avi deserves better.

I wish Hawk would come up with a nickname for him, if only not to have to listen to him chew up and spit out the four syllables he chomps that first name into.

Four syllables is correct, in terms of the pronunciation rules. Rules don't apply to people's names, so if Avi says it differently, then that's that. But Av-ee-sah-eel is not obviously wrong, that I know of.

It's the proper Spanish pronunciation. ...sail is not "sale" in Spanish. He had to get it from the man himself, since Hawk mangles other Spanish names.

I'm cool with just Avi.

1. I'm not a fan of the generic (first inital + first syllable of last name) formula.

2. Sounds way too much like Agarn...

In my high school, all the "popular kids" developed a system of nicknames for each other wherein a long "E" sound was added to the first (or only) syllable of their last name. Nelson became "Nellie," White was "Whitey," Olson was "Olie," etc. It was as annoying as it sounds.

I'd have been "Kammie" - good thing I wasn't popular.

This is another annoying thing in sports, I want to say it's the worst in hockey.

That is what everyone in hockey does.
