Default *Official* Sox Walkoff 4-3 postgamer

De Aza delivers the game-winning hit with a single to right field. SOX win in extras.

Very nice.
De Aza's been a space cadet at times, but is a pretty good hitter at a nice price. We can use him.
Good to see Garcia get a big hit.
Santiago struggled but got us through 5...look out when he gets those walks under control.

Quick hits:
Alexei needs a vacation.
Cabrera is breaking down before our eyes.
Glad it was worth staying up til 1230.
Avasail seems to be living up to the hype.
Despite the base running blunders, I would not mind keeping DeAza in 2014.
Would've liked to have given Scherzer the L, but an ND will do.
Please for the love of god try bunting on Cabrera if he's out there tomorrow.
Detroit sucks.

Three errors but he stayed with the ball that Cabrera couldn't run out and nipped him. A few days off would be a good idea, yes. Couple errors helped us, too, although the Bonderman high throw wasn't called one. You can always enjoy a game like this even in the midst of a wipeout of a season. Nice to see Garcia make some good contact too

Great game love beating Detroit. Garcia looks better will more ABs. De Aza I think is a no brainer for next year.

Good game, although I dozed through most of it in a food coma...but I woke up for the good parts. I like Garcia's hustle out there. He seems like a really good pickup.

And Hector Santiago - you rock:

Dan Hayes ‏@DanHayesCSN 11m Hector Santiago had a root canal yesterday. Area is infected. Had a temp of 102.7 early this morning. #Whitesox

Both to bring back and on the base paths.

Wow. Hector does rock! I have had root canals and they are awful. Never had one get infected, though, and can't imagine what it was like for Hector to have to pitch the day after having had one. Yikes!

I kept looking at Hector and wondering why he looked different. Hector is usually very animated but last night he looked like he was moving slowly. Must have been the pain meds. I thought Hector pitched great considering he is recovering from a root canal.

Nice win for the Sox. I was pleased to see the new kid, Avi, bite the hand that once fed him. And kudos to DeAza for getting the walk-off hit.

October26 - Thank you to the 2005 World Series Champions Chicago White Sox!
October26 - Twenty-SEVEN years ago, I married my husband on October 26. Since that day, we have been blessed with a wonderful family. Then, on October 26, 2005, when the baseball gods bestowed their good fortunes upon us, we saw the White Sox win the World Series. An incredibly talented team of grinders made every Sox fan's dream come true. My family and I celebrated with reckless abandon. And now, we look forward to that day when our White Sox will once again be World Series Champions!

It's a nice idea, but somehow I think pop-ups and 0-2 counts would be the inevitable result.

Avasail has that superstar presence at the plate that I don't remember from a Sox prospect since Maggs. Have to admit I'm starting to change my opinion on him.

A couple things. I just dont think DeAza likes playing cf, maybe playing regularly in left will help his mental blunders. (yea I know then the Sox have to get either a cfer or rfer). I wonder if the Sox are considering picking up the 4M club option on Lindstom. If not I would have figured they should have been able to trade him before the trade deadline.

Then I wonder why he wasnt moved at the deadline. Even if they got a bag of balls and ate some of salary it was the move to make. It just doesnt make much sense, thats why I brought up picking up his option.

They probably did try. But he wasn't pitching well and we didn't need a bag of balls. And a bullpen with Veal, Troncosco, et al, needs someone who can somewhat pitch just to finish out the season.

This game had a really nice ending! A few free extra innings of baseball is always a nice treat.

I took my little brother to this game and we went up to the FUNdamentas section. That's a really nice area for kids! Hes 12 so everything seemed slow paced to him up there... but that's such an awesome place for families to bring their kids. I don't care what the "Rankings" and "Top Lists" have to say about the Cell, I think its an awesome place to watch a game!

Early return on Garcia looks good. Be nice to rob someone than other way around.
