Default Peter Gammons on Crane

Peter Gammons was filling in tonight as the color man for Red Sox/Rays. Red Sox have a closer issue. Andrew Bailey entered in a 1-0 save opportunity in the 9th and gave up a home run to tie the game.
Gammons said the Red Sox may need a closer at the trade deadline. He mentioned Jesse Crane as a guy the Red Sox and Tigers may go after.

Good news - they can bid against each other.

And none of this "We don't trade within the AL or in the division" nonsense.

Its Crain, not Crane.

The more teams bidding, the better.

Yes, but a crane will be needed to rebuild this team.

Boston always has good positional player prospects.

Throw in a bulldozer or 2.

Crain could be a bullpen difference maker for a lot of teams. I suspect Hahn will field calls from more than just the Red Sox and Tigers.

True. If the players were dropped from the crane, they'd have to be replaced.

Maybe so but when push comes to shove, I would prefer that Crain go to Boston instead of Detroit. With that said, let the bidding begin!

At least Crain has some nice trade value. The Cardinals could also use him for the stretch run. For the first time in a while, Rick might actually have some leverage.
