Despite getting hit today Robin said it's "highly unlikely" that Santiago will be sent down and figures to make the opening day roster.
Don't know how this impacts the staff in the sense if anybody else was penciled in ahead of him. Said he'll be 'stretched out' (probably as insurance for Danks) but he can handle a number of different roles. Lip |

Probably not a bad decision as he is so versatile.
With that being said what do you guys see Santiago's ceiling being? 4th or 5th starter or long-relief spot start guy? He is only 25 and has showed some potential at times. Just like to see what WSI thinks he could be in 2-3 years.

Hector Santiago doesn't want to hear he has a spot on #WhiteSox roster even with Robin Ventura's endorsement. http://cmcst.sn/aabzKX While Hector Santiago is all but assured a roster spot, the lefty isn't taking anything for granted as the White Sox figure out if he'll pitch as a starter or reliever. |

I don't see why he wouldn't. He did a fine job for us last year and pitchers like him are hard to come by. I think he'll be even better this season.
