Default A-Rod may not be ready for start of 2013 season
May need additional hip surgery. If he gets the procedure in January, that puts his timetable to return sometime between April-June.

Maybe not, but it could be a bad thing for the White Sox. Chavez whom the Sox might have been considering now has a lot more leverage.
