Default My Sox Summer - 50 games for under $500

Hello fellow Sox fans! I am just putting this out there for you guys to see. I recently (April) moved from Sterling, IL into Chicago over by Sox Park. Since I moved I have been going to a bunch of games being that I am under employed and work mostly from home when I do have work to do. A few weeks into the season I decided to try and see if I could do this, 50 games for under $500. I usually get tickets at the game from people with extras. I usually spend about $10 a game. I will bring my own water and peanuts from time to time, but rarely do I spend much on extras at the park.

I decided to blog about it so you can read and follow my progress at-

http://mysoxsummer.wordpress.com/

I am also on FB - http://www.facebook.com/MySoxSummer

I post pictures and scans of the tickets to make it more legit. I am not an author so it is lacking on the verbal end, but a bunch of folks have told me that they like it. I am at Game #23 and have a total of $152 spent. Frank Thomas and Jermaine Dye have re-tweeted it to their followers on Twitter. You can find me on Twitter- @mysoxsummer

Just wanted to share. Thanks guys!

Hope we can steal a few in Detroit! I will be at the next 3 games vs the Twins!

MSS registered today and we had to talk about whether to allow his blog to be linked here, but it's a pretty cool story with lots of material and his site is ad free, so this thread is now live and welcome to WSI.

Thanks again!

I will continue to update this thread when I have a new blog up. I think you can also get an update via email directly from Wordpress if you give them your email.

Thanks for all the views guys!

I usually only keep up with blogs my friends write (and I'm not always even the best about that), but I really enjoyed reading your blog. I've lived in Miami for the past year and as a consequence I've really missed going to the Cell (among many other things that make Chicago a far superior city to Miami) and your blog reminded me of the many good times I've had there over the years. Having also lived away from the Chicago area for years, I'm sure you can relate to that. Anyway, keep up the good work and I'll keep reading.

keep up the good work. I feel like you should contact 670 the score for an interview. I can see somebody like Laurence Holmes or Jason Goff agreeing to give you an interview since theyr'e always giving fans hell for not going to games...

Greatest Arsenal goal I have ever witnessed. Chills to this day watching it.

I didn't get their names (one male, the other female), but they visited you during the game after I told them I knew about you. I knew they were your friends because they reacted to the scoreboard message about you.

Talk about an impressive feat...

Dedicated Brewers fan attends all 162 games

Ben Rouse, 25, is in remission from a fight with leukemia that began in 2007 and that was definitely a motivating factor in his quest, he told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel:
"Why not do it at 25? Who knows what my body will be like in 20 years, 30 years."

I know who you are talking about. Very cool. The girl was the one responsible for getting me on the scoreboard. Actually, I was on the jumbo-tron that game too with my NIU gear on.
