Could just be KW's insurance policy if he moves Jackson in the near future. With Peavy a permanent question mark, this gives the SOX a safety net in the case that he or another starter get hurt. It also likely keeps Sale in the bullpen for the rest of the season, because as of now, he or Santiago would be next (7th) in line.
With the said, Doug Davis sucks.
