-Tonight at 7 pm ET, Round 1 and the Supplemental Round of the first-year player draft takes place. It will be televised on MLB Network and streamed live at MLB.com

-Rounds 2 through 30 will take place Tuesday, June 7th at Noon ET with live programming on MLB.com

-Rounds 31 through 50 will commence Wednesday, June 8th at Noon ET, likely followed on the draft tracker portion of MLB.com

*The White Sox have draft picks 13, 63, 95, and 114, then the 13th pick of each following round.

As of right now, the smart money would be on the Sox selecting a signable college pitcher. Shocking, no?

I'd bet it will be one of the following:

-Asher Wojciechowski
-Brandon Workman
-Barret Loux
-Alex Wimmers

I think getting McGuire would be nice if he's still available, but after that I would probably prefer Wimmers or Workman. In my opinion, Asher W projects as a reliever.

Many scouts think the same about Asher, but they love his frame and the fastball/slider. If he develops his changeup, he could be a 2 or 3 starter.

I'm not the biggest fan of Workman. His mechanics and delivery are all over the place and there are repeatability issues. He does have a very nice curveball though. I don't think his upside is considerably higher than Wimmers, who I think is underrated. Wimmers has two secondary pitches described as plus, and a fastball that sits in the 90-93 range with good movement.

Essentially. I'm not entirely sure how things are sorted, but that is the gist of it. Maybe someone else can weigh in. Elias rankings are rather convoluted.

Hey I would take Manny Machado for the Sox too!

Thats just a bonus for me. The Dynasty league did force me to do an early dive into this draft but I've been a fan of Brentz. I had him scouted out after his monster year in 2009.
