Minor league relivers, presumably filler for losing Ely and Link. Threets is a lefty, Aquino a righty, maybe 40-man callup relief in September.

I remember wanting Threets a few years ago when I read about how good his gas (100+)-changeup combo was. Even after the shoulder issues, he's still throwing in the mid 90s and had himself a great year in AAA last season, cutting down his walks a great deal.

Aquino will be 32 in January. If the Sox call him up in September, Lord help us all.

I think you're overestimating the importance of September call-ups. Hell, even the 2005 Sox had David Sanders throw some **** innings in September.
