Gio Gonzalez kicking some serious tail for Kanny. Through 5 innings, he has 9 K and has given up only 1 hit and 0 BB. (If he keeps his K/9 around 15, I suspect Gio will see a promotion before long. That's absolutely sick.) The only scoring so far is a 2-run HR by Josh Hansen, who is playing RF.

This is the front end of a DH, will only be 7 innings long. Gio now has 10 K's through 6IP (1H, 0 BB), Kanny still up 2-0.
Gio finished strong last year, easily could have started in W-S, but the way the rotations fell out, no reason to rush him. Wouldn't be surprised to see him up in W-S by the middle of May at this rate. 3 or 4 more starts in a row like this and they have to find a way to move him up...
