According to MLB's international amateur signing rules, if a player has played three or more years in a major league of another nation, the player is considered a professional not an amateur. Abreu is an international professional, not a prospect. Same with Tanaka. Soler was signed as an amateur and has played in the minors, therefore he's a prospect.
