I have no problem Danks as the 4th OF at a quarter the price.

You also have Leury Garcia who can play everywhere.

Dunn is more than likely going to be asked to play some LF whenever they want to get Paulie in the lineup.

So options are there.

I guess my whole problem with this is seeing how the Sox allocate every valueable $ of their payroll. We know they don't have the mega resources the Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, Rangers, Angels have. How many teams outside of those can afford to pay a back up 4th OF $4+ million for a season?

The catching position is still a mess. As much as his game is flawed, Saltalamachia signed for $7 million per season. That's less than what both Beckham and DeAza are going to make combined.

You also have Keppinger who will be riding the bench at about $4 million.
