He's a few years removed from it, but is capable of posting an obp at least above .300. At the low end he's still around it. Flowers had an obp of .247 last year though. Not close to the same thing. And while Buck is bad defensively, both our guys are another level of bad defensively. As in, don't belong behind the plate bad.
My guess is that Nieto is almost penciled in for a spot and they want to give Flowers/Phegley another year. And to think that Flowers/Phegley can post a .310 obp isn't that wild.
