I think he was more a victim of being an average to below average crafty lefty who happened to play in the middle of the Steroid Era offensive boom. Maybe if he was born in 1965 or 1985, he could have carved out a nice little career, unfortunately for him, he entered his mid-20s in 1998.
Yeah, you're probably right, but Jimmy P. was really nice to my dog on Dog Day 2000 (he petted our border collie in front of the dugout during the pre-game parade; Foulke gopher ball for the loss!). So I have a real soft spot in my heart for him.
