If he was younger, I'd be less concerned. I'd rather see more money spent on developing young players.
When you're like the Sox, sometimes you have to swing for the fences on a big deal to try and grab a guy who could be a real difference-maker.
I also like that we have several Cuban players on the roster. That can be very helpful if they know other guys on the roster that they are friends/acquaintances with.
