Why would you automatically jump to 7,000 calories a day? In order to gain weight you just need to consistently eat a bit over maintenance for a long period of time.
I am not an expert and so I read several articles/books that mentioned 6000-7000 calories being the "magic" number. Based on my personal experience, I have just given in to genetics.
