While I am as frustrated with Beckham's hitting just as everyone else is on this site, this stat line doesn't make him seem so bad offensively compared to the rest of the AL. And I think his defense somewhat makes up for his lack of offense.

This is the reason that not starting Beckham this year would be a mistake.
