Even though the Marlins fired him, if the Marlins stopped paying Ozzie, wouldn't they be in breach of contract? Just because the Marlins don't want Ozzie to manage their team, doesn't mean they couldn't ask Ozzie to live up to his end of the contract (like they are living up to their end by continuing him to pay him). And if he refused, they likely wouldn't have to pay him anymore. I'm not 100% certain because, like I said earlier, (1) there may be specific language in Ozzie's contract which addresses this very situation and (2) I'm not familiar with Florida contract law. But, like you said, just because Miami could
do this; they never would!!
