Just about anyone would have produced more in the last three or so months. Dan Johnson was a real alternative, at least against righties.
Yes , I don't know what the delay was in getting Johnson up on the roster. He did well in the minors from what I have heard, and it looks like he is a pretty decent hitter at the MLB level. He certainly would have been a better alternative than Danks or Hudson off the bench.
