I was not able to participate in this one but a friend who was involved passed along a summery of it.
I post this for anyone who is interested:
"Doug said he was going to the Dominican Republic later this summer and that the Sox could sign a couple players from Latin America next July 2.
Same old answers about signability. Funny, because they went over slot on Walker (thanks to the Yankees and Dante Bichette Jr.) and 3rd round pick Soptic .
Doug could have sold the fact that I believe the Sox are the only team in baseball to sign their first seven picks. They also signed their 30th round pick from Texas A&M, a power arm lefty reliever.
Someone asked about all the picks from the West Coast, and Doug said some of it was due to the wet weather on the East Coast.
Doug didn't sound confident about signing two of the top 10 picks currently unsigned.
Doug didn't say it, but I found out that he was watching an amateur showcase tournament in Cincinnati, so at least he's getting a jump on next year."
O'Shea and Gardeck. Not signing Gardeck would be disappointing as it was a great pick.
