I'll give it a definite maybe. When Springfield lost its team - the Cardinals affiliate - in '94, Waterloo moved in to replace it. You'd think the people there would have been glad to have baseball back, but the new team was the Padres affiliate, and people complained. Team fled for Lansing two years later and became the Lugnuts.
Then again, it's Springfield.
