In honor of actor Andy Garcia and his (unintentionally) hilarious reaction to Sofia (Mary Corleone) Coppola's death scene in "The Godfather, Part III."

"Super Sox" break out of lumber slumber, bash '69 Senators

White Sox 13, Senators 6

Feeling a bit lazy these days, so I haven't posted my latest result in a couple of days. Just wanted to put a brief recap-the Super Sox busted out of their one game slump and subjected Ted Williams' 1969 Senators to a 13-6 whacking at RFK Stadium. The Sens jumped out to a quick 3-0 1st inning lead on a home run by Mike Epstein, who also smacked one to stake...

"Super Sox" vs. 1964 Washington Senators

Osteen, Senators put "Super Sox" in stupor

Senators 5, White Sox 1

Wasn't a very good day for the Super Sox, I must say. They squared off against Claude Osteen and the 64 Senators. Osteen looked more like future Dodger teammate Sandy Koufax as he methodically handled the potent Sox lineup, allowing only 1 hit through the first 8 innings. The Sox put runners on in the first 5 innings via walks and an error on Osteen, but the lefty worked his way out of each jam....

"Super Sox" vs. Seattle Pilots

"Super Sox" ground Pilots in season opener

White Sox 5, Pilots 3 (10 innings)

The Super Sox debuted today at Sick's Stadium in Seattle, Washington, conveniently located within view of lovely Mt. Rainier. A less-than-enthusiastic crowd of 14,145 showed up and cheered tepidly for their team. They didn't seem to be too hapy to have them back, as they were still bitter that the team had abandoned them after one season for Milwaukee.

One of the men...

APBA presents..."The Super Sox"

I have decided, after a long layoff, to try and get back into APBA baseball. I have three seasons worth of teams laying arond gathering dust-1964, 1969 and 1936. I bought 1936 first, intending to "recreate" that entire White Sox season, but eventually lost interest. I bought 1964 and 1969 to match up the 1964 Sox and the 1969 Cubs in a mythical "World Series" between two of Chicago's famous also-rans (I would have preferred the 1967 Sox, but that season wasn't available). So...

Shark Quarterbacks-a brief history

So, in my imaginary world of the Honolulu Sharks, I have created several characters. I have to admit I have a few favorites of them and I write more about them than the others. Or rather, I would, if I did write about them. I don't know why I don't. Laziness and lack of motivation, I guess. I can't come up with something that will sell. I should write I guess for the hell of it. But there is no fun in doing it just for yourself. You'd like to share it with as many people as possible. That is the...
