So, in my imaginary world of the Honolulu Sharks, I have created several characters. I have to admit I have a few favorites of them and I write more about them than the others. John Arnold "Jack" Brown Play-by-play Announcer 1960-present Brown was a 25 year-old part-time disc jockey in California struggling to make it in the business when the AFL was formed and teams hired or held tryouts for play-by-play announcers. Brown auditioned for the Los Angeles Chargers job and didn't get it, but did land the Sharks job. Some of the characters from my history of the Honolulu Sharks:

Matthew Jensen-QB-K Philadelphia Eagles 1958-59; Honolulu Sharks 1960-61-Jensen was a benchwarmer for the Eagles who went on to be the first quarterback in Shark history, and not a very good one at that. he was also the team's placekicker. At one point in 1961, the Sharks are so bad that they are 0-5 and have scored only 15 points-all of them field goals by Jensen.

Autumn and a young man's thoughts turn to...football. Hm. Funny how that never caught on like the saying about springtime.

Football season is upon us, however, and with it comes thoughts of something else I did when I was young and hormonal and in need of a date-created my very own football team.

I don't remember where or when the actual idea for a football team came to me-I had always imagined fictional football players the same way I had imagined fictional baseball...
